DAY 5  Braulio Carrillo National Park

With another adventurous day ahead we set out for Braulio Carrillo National Park. Here you will enjoy a moderate hike with a naturalist guide for an expert understanding of the park’s five ecosystems – cloud forest, tropical rain forest, riparian stream habitat, and riparian river habitat or water rafting along the Sarapiqui River. We wrap up the day at the breathtaking Costa Rica Nature Pavilion, a National Geographic destination site and central home to over 225 bird species. (B,L)

DAY 7  Rainforest Adventure

Prepare for another breathtaking adventure as we go face-to-face with forest, streams, and waterfalls with La Roca Canyoneering Adventures. After a brief safety course, professional guides will hook you up so you can slowly repel down into the lush rainforest. Once you land, you’ll stomp through small streams as you make your way to the hanging bridge. This bridge offers great views into the rainforest; so keep your eyes open for birds, insects, and reptiles. One of the tour’s most exciting features, the zip line, comes next. The tour ends with a mellow hike down a slow-flowing river. Relax during the late afternoon and evening in the thermal hot spring waters. (B,L)
